Bridal Shower

Today I went to a bridal shower. I love bridal showers. They remind me of my own, and allow me to reflect on those days before I was married.

I remember feeling anxious, excited, nervous, happy, and everything in between. It was a wonderful time in my life.

The point where you just want to be married already, to your handsome husband-to-be. Also the point where you look back on your life and realize it will never be the same. That your life is going in a new direction, but a better one.

ahh, the memories. to all my ladies out there who are not married (that read this). Please let me know when you get engaged/have bridal showers/ etc. That way, I can celebrate with you, and be there when you create those memories of your own.

thanks :)

Green Card

3 hour drive to Memphis Tennessee, for a 10 minute interview....HAHA. Cake. It was the easiest thing ever, and I could not be happier about it.

This interview allowed bryan to get a Green Card ( if we passed...and we did)

So, in 3 weeks, bry will be rocking his green card, and we will be 100% legal.

YAY!

Mysterious Ways

I was listening to some music on my computer, and this song came on. These lyrics are simply inspiring.
"Don't let your lights go down
Don't let your fire burn out
'cause somewhere, somebody needs a reason to believe
Why don't you rise up now?
Don't be afraid to stand out
That's how the lost get found
The lost get found"

"The Lost Get Found" -Britt Nicole

Then, this song came on. Another amazing song with inspiring lyrics.

"I don't know how the stars hang
Or how there's night and then there's day
I dont know how you spoke into the black
And made it all obey

All I know is the bleeding in my heart
And the healing in your touch
All I know is that you gave everything
So let that be enough
'Cause it's all I know

I don't know how your love works
How you cover me in grace
I don't know how you swallow all I am
When I can't stand my taste

All I know is the bleeding in my heart
And the healing in your touch
All I know is that you gave everything
So let that be enough
'Cause it's all I know

I can't explain your mystery
But I know the answer

All I know is the bleeding in my heart
And the healing in your touch
All I know is that you gave everything
So let that be enough
'Cause it's all I know"

"All I Know" - Matt Wertz

The Lord works in mysterious ways, and knows exactly how to speak to us as individuals. For me, what I needed was some inspiring music to lift my spirits, and bring me closer to Christ, my Savior.

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. What a blessing to be a part of it.

Fabric for curtains/pillows for couch :)

The first picture shows the pillows that are going to be put on my couch :)
The fabric with red, blue, green, yellow circles is going in the living room.
The black, grey, yellow, will go in our bedroom!!

I am so excited!! Seriously. The color theme in our kitchen/living room is red and turquoise. That theme of colors will go into the living room as well. Also there is a reoccurring theme of cute birds around the house! :) I can't wait till everything is finished!!!

I will take more pictures when I am done with decorating :)

pictures of the condo so far!

We began moving in yesterday Here are some pics... now I am not done with decorating, there are no curtains etc

As you can see, we are not done yet. I still have a bedroom with nothing in it but our trash... haha (the arch hallway leads to that bedroom). I am going to do a separate post with curtain fabrics :)

Dear World

I understand that I look young, and I usually get to that daily. BUT today was the worst. I am fabric shopping with my mom, and this lady says: "So, are you guys on a mother daughter outing?", We reply "Yes, we are!", lady then says, "I see you have a wedding ring on..." "Yes, I am married, have been for 1 year and 4 months", Lady "Oh, my I thought you were 12".....

TWELVE??? REALLY??? IM TWENTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ahhh;faej ra;sfjds;kf ja;lsdj

thank you for the reminder world.
thank you so much....ugh.
Not-so-sincerly,
Becca

PS. These daily reminders could stop at anytime, and I would be happy.

:D

So many good things are happening right now!! We got great news today. Bryan's employment authorization got approved. This allows him to have a job and get paid! He just has to go get his social security number, then we are good to go! We also have an interview on December 28th, for Bryan's visa, if we pass that, then Bry is able to stay in the states for a long long time!! :) Then he can eventually become a citizen!! This is awesome!!

Also, we close on our condo tomorrow!! Which means it is officially ours!! :) We are going to start moving things in tomorrow! :)

Also, it snowed all day Sunday, and made the roads pretty bad here, but no worries, we are all safe here!!

Still need to find curtains for the house!

Also, I am working on a project with my mom and sister. We are making Christmas stockings for our hubbies!! :) It's a tradition in my family for everyone to have homemade stockings. My mom's stocking was made for her by her great aunt Cressie (who by the way is turning 100 in january, and I am going to San Diego to join that party with her! ) my dad's was made by our grandma, and all of my sister's and I's stockings were made my my grandma as well. We thought we would bring the boys in on the tradition! Everyone on my moms side of the family has them too!! They are super special, I have had mine ever since I can remember!!

Oh man, we are loving life!!

I am done with my fall semester at belmont! I survived. haha. It was awesome! My last final was on friday!!! :) Now, Bry and I can focus on getting our stuff ready for the big MOVE! This big move is occurring wednesday next week. We are so excited to finally have a place of our own again! It was great living with my parents, don't get me wrong, but....let's just say, that we are ready to move.

shout out to ashley: I am going to sew my own curtains for the condo. If I can do it, i will feel accomplished. :)

also, I am excited about decorating the place. :) I promise I will take pictures and post them on here and facebook for the world to see :)

that is all for now.

Finals are almost here!

So, this week, I have school on monday/tuesday. Then I take my finals on friday the 10th. Then I am done until January 12th!!
Crazy!
Also, we were supposed to move into our new condo this week. But things are getting pushed back a bit. I promise to take some pics of our new place. I only have 2 pics of it now, and it was when it was the model home. So these pics of the condo do not reflect how it will actually look when we move it because we have different furniture etc. but here is what it looked like as the model home.

Thanks Giving

I have so many things to be grateful for, seriously.
My husband, my family, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the Atonement, repentance, the Spirit, being able to attend school and learn, babies (no. we are not having babies for a while, but I am still thankful for them), Christmas time, being able to walk and drive, chocolate, frozen yogurt, charleston chews (YUM), the fact that I have a bed to sleep in and a roof over my head, this WORLD.
"Take pictures in your mind of your childhood room
Memorize what it sounded like when your dad gets home
Remember the footsteps, remember the words said
And all your little brother's favorite songs
I just realized everything I have is someday gonna be gone"
Tay swift's song "Grow Up"

I am thankful for the knowledge I have of knowing that families are FOREVER. That Bryan and I will never be apart, even after this existence.

I am also thankful for Bryan's amazing family :)

And lastly I am thankful for my Savior, Jesus Christ, and the love he has for me.

stress!!!

Man, it is that time again....and when I say time, I mean week. And when I say week, I mean the busiest week of my life. And the sad thing is, is that this week has not even occurred yet. It is the week after thanksgiving. EVERYONE of my teachers decided to make something due that week. SO...i am frantically stressing now and trying to get most of it done before thanksgiving break. Because who wants to do work over break?? not me! And also Bryan's parents are coming in town the day after thanksgiving. I want to be able to give them my undivided attention without school being in the back of my mind.
So this is how my busy week ( after thanksgiving) looks:
November 29- Dec 3:
Monday: Peer critiques due for my speech class.
Tuesday: Research paper due for history and Lab due for my health class
Wednesday: Computer profciency test from 9am-12pm, biology presentation, then at 6:30 i have to watch a 3 hour long movie for history class
Thursday: Critique due for my history class...
Friday: nothing.
I cannot wait for it to be over.

In other news, I can't wait for Thanksgiving! :) And for Bryan's parents to come! I just wish I didn't have so much stuff going on with school...
Oh well, it will all work out!!

Halloween

Halloween should be my favorite holiday because it was the night I met my future husband. :) He was dressed as a doctor and I was dressed as a ninja turtle. We were eating at the village inn (classy right?) and the story goes from there. But, it's not my favorite holiday. I would have to say my favorite holidays are (in order) : Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter. Why? Because for Christmas we celebrate our Savior's birth. What an amazing thing to celebrate!! Thanksgiving is a time for us to get together with our family and remember how important gratitude is. :) And Easter because we remember our Savior dying for us and celebrate his resurrection! Which is an amazing thing and I am thankful for the Atonement everyday.

But anyways, I hope everyone has an amazing and safe halloween!!! :) what are you guys being anyways??

driving...

So, I was in the car with my mom, and I noticed a man driving his car with his headphones in. This is not the first time I have noticed someone with headphones in their ears while driving a car. HONESTLY??? Okay, so it's one thing if you are using your headphones as a handsfree way to talk on the phone, and for that I commend you. But if you are listening to music through headphones while driving, I want to bonk you in the head!!!! How aware can you be of your surroundings if one of your 5 senses is being blasted with music?? Tell me how a person with headphones in can hear an ambulance driving by, a car horn honk, or a police car siren? I mean, yeah you can see it, but you don't really look for that stuff if you don't hear it first. Don't get me wrong, I blare music in my car when I am driving, but at least i can still hear what is going on around me.

I just don't think it is safe to do what i just talked about....
i had to get it off my chest.
thanks for reading :)

honesty

Okay, so I get home from school yesterday, everything seems great. I then am asked to take our dogs outside to go potty (you have to go with them and take them on a leash so they don't run away) and I walk by my new (well, new to me) car and what do i see? SOMEONE SCRATCHED MY SIDE VIEW MIRROR!!!!!! They did not even leave a note, or anything to apologize...I got so upset. So I decided that the world needs more honest people in it. I am not trying to stand on a soapbox here and seem better than anyone else, but there have been times that i have accidentally done something SO small to my parents cars and I still tell them about it because I feel so bad. Ex. I was parking at school and I accidentally scratched my dad's rim on the curb. As soon as I got home, i fessed up and felt awful. Another ex. I was opening my moms car door and accidently hit something with it, and there was the smalles scratch ever that no one would notice (but me) and i HAD to tell her because i felt so awful...

WHY COULDN'T SOMEONE HAVE JUST DONE THAT WHEN THEY HIT MY CAR??? I mean honestly, an apology is really all I wanted. I wouldn't have even really been that mad at the person.

Oh well, there is nothing I can do now about the situation. I should post a picture of my car haha. It is a 2007 Honda Fit. I named it Spike. Only because it is really ironic. My car is like the size of a mouse. haha

Anyways, I am not trying to seem high and mighty by explaining what I did when i messed up my parents cars, I was just hoping that the person who did it to my car would have the same courtesy. But life isn't fair and never will be. Time to move on!!

Have an amazing blessed day!!!

what?

Every time I click on the "new post" button, all of my thoughts leave my brain. I am not kidding. And it drives me nuts.
Well, I am working on my speech outline at the moment. Haven't gotten very far. I chose my topic, it's about Cheesecake. I know, I know, it sounds lame, and also has nothing to do with the American Obesity epidemic..well, kinda cause it causes it (ps. thank you for the ideas, it made me happy that you guys even commented on my post to try and help me) but I LOVE cheesecake.

So, I am gonna talk about when it originated (ancient greece, like 776 BC) how it came to be the way it is now, how its made, whats in it, etc.

Soooo, I hope it goes well. We will see :)

have a great day everyone!

inspiration

Inspiration really comes from everything. It comes from my husband, my family, my friends blogs that I read, books, technology. I mean...everything. So, because it comes from everything, I need your help.

I have to give an informative speech in like, a week and a half. I NEED to pick a topic ASAP. It basically is a speech where I talk about something and inform the class about something for like 6 minutes. Examples of other peoples speeches: pizza, the art of compliance, fashion at my school, christmas eve traditions, the blues, etc. I do not know what I want to do.

I have had 1 suggestion from a high school friend, but I need some more suggestions. So if you have one, leave a comment with your suggestion... :) Thanks friends!

stressed

I was so stressed about my history Midterm that I took today. I went to class, was freaking out inside, but when I got the test, I knew everything! I am so relieved that it is over, and that I can relax....for a bit. :)

This weekend, Bryan and I are babysitting 2 boys from my ward. They are 8 and 11. They are the sweetest kids and so cute!! We have them from friday afternoon to Sunday evening!! It should be fun!

i suck at this

I really should keep this thing updated more! I swear I am going to try harder.
School:
School is great, I love all my classes. I will tell you why.
Weight training:
-I have a good friend in that class now. I eat lunch with her, it is always fun. She always has interesting stories.
-I feel like I am actually getting stronger, not like superman strong...but you know, I feel like progress is being made.
-I am actually starting to enjoy my workouts. I also might be starting to enjoy running... nothing serious though.
Biology:
-I LOVE SCIENCE. Oh my goodness. I really do.
-I am getting good grades, like WAY better than when I was at BYU, so I feel pretty good about myself.
-I am enjoying learning about DNA synthesis and protein synthesis.
-But this love for science does NOT mean I am going to change my major to biology. no freaking way.
History:
-I have always enjoyed history. So you know, it's a fun class for me.
-My teacher loves me, we talked for like 10 minutes after class because she overheard me saying that I was married. She was married at 15...CRAZY! Oh and she likes hockey.
-But just because she likes me does not mean that her tests will be easy. I have a test in this class this thursday...kinda worried.
Health and Fitness:
-well...this class, I could do with out. really really boring.
Speech Class:
-I HATE THIS CLASS. But one of my best friends from high school is in it with me, so it isnt too bad.
-I HATE PUBLIC SPEAKING, and i have to speak in this class....
-IT IS A REQUIRED CLASS...LAME-O. Oh well, my teacher is awesome though.

Life in general is great! I think i have finally decided my major to be Exercise Science. And I am so pumped to finally kinda know what I want to do with my life...school wise.

Also ps. I scared Hilary Collins really bad this week. really funny. :)
ALSO PS. I wanna come see hilly give her farewell talk. I swear I am trying to figure out a way to get there.

General conference was this weekend. Absolutely fabulous. I love hearing such amazing messages of love, guidance, and direction. Our Prophet Thomas S. Monson is so amazing and I love him so much! I also love the apostles as well. I just love church in general. :)

That's all for now folks.

4. It is a 4 day weekend
5. Bry and I are getting iPads...which we will hopefully pick up on monday

Seriously, I am pumped. I can't wait to hear the Prophet's words and his counsellors. And to gain more direction in our lives. I can't wait to seem my precious niece and my handsome nephews!!!

Also, Bryan and I bought tickets to go to Nashville and visit my family in the summer!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!! ahh. I love seeing my family so much! They mean the world to me!

Education

I miss school. I hope that I can go back soon. I forgot how much I enjoy learning. And I have NO idea what I want to do with school. What will I major in? What classes will I take? I wish I knew. I guess I will just have to pray it out and see. You see, I face a slight delima, which is that one day I wanna be the best mom there is, and that isn't something you take at school...soooo what do I take? I don't even know what I like....well I do, just not with school.

School, it's almost been a year and I can't wait to meet again.
Sincerly,
Bex

I love church

Today in church we sang "Families Can Be Together Forever" and it almost made me cry. Why? Because, I feel so happy knowing that because Bryan and I married in the Temple that we will be together forever. Being married in the Temple was one of the most beautiful and sacred moments in my life and I honestly will never forget it. That song just reminded me about how important Temples are and how important Temple work is. I love the Gospel so much.

Anyways, there is this song I really love by a kinda unknown artist named Ross Copperman, I wish he was more widely known. His music is really beautiful. And this song is one of my favorites. Its called Glass. Just listen to this song and the words....beautiful!!! Love it!

It's been a while!!

So, I haven't posted on here in AGES!! A lot has happened since then!

Christmas:
Christmas was great this year! Bryan gave me Band Hero and MacBook Pro! I was extremely surprised to say the least. He is SOOO Sneaky!!!! And I got Bryan 2 long sleeve t shirts, a, automatic car starter, and a pretty cool iphone alarm clock thing. haha. It was great! So after we opened our presents at our house, we went to Bryan's parents house and had Christmas Breakfast!! Which was delicious! And then we opened some presents there! One of the gifts we got was a vacuum cleaner!! Which we needed badly. It was a great morning!!

Well, Christmas night rolls around and that is when another adventure was started. Bryan and I drove 3 hours to Great Falls, Montana and stayed the night there. Early in the AM we flew from there to Atlanta GA. We then stayed there for the night. Then the next morning we went to the Altanta airport again and that is when we met up with my family!! I was SO happy to see them again! It had been a very long time, and it felt so great to be with them again...even if they are CRAZY!

We all flew from Atlanta to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic!!!!! Let me tell you, the heat, the beach, the sun, the ocean breeze....was VERY therapeutic. And much needed!!!

I can't upload pics yet, because I dont have my cord to do so....lame. BUT we met a famous person there, and we didnt even know it!!!! Her name is Dania Ramirez, she is on the TV series called Heroes. And her name on that is Maya. She also has a very cute dog (in real life) named Joey. And pretty much, I wanted to steal him. She was also in the 3rd X-Men Movie as Callista!! She fought Halle Berry. Pretty cool! But....We didnt knew she was famous till we left.....if we had known, we would have at least gotten a picture with her! lol

Anyways, a week and a tan later, we are now back in Lethbridge and I am freezing my BUTT off. Back to work tomorrow, on call till next week. GAY. But what can you do right??

We had a great new years in the Dominican, and we had many Dominican Experiences!!

Happy 2010 to all!!!!

We love you!!
-Bryan and Becca
